Billet & Steel Available
Wheel Adapters
At VNM Forged, our wheel kits include the option of billet or steel wheel adapters, billet being available in a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches. These adapters typically provide ample clearance for tires up to 13.50 inches wide. However, it's worth noting that when using tires of this width on the rear wheels, particularly depending on the tire brand, they may sit closely together. We can provide a spacer in between to help with clearance.
For instance, our shop truck is equipped with 1.5-inch billet adapters and 42x13.50x30 tires. This setup ensures sufficient clearance from the leaf springs and between the wheels. Ensuring proper clearance isn't just about aesthetics; it's crucial for safety. Whether you're driving, towing, or off-roading, using the correct wheel adapters will guarantee optimal performance and safety.
If your plans involve using tires wider than 13.50 inches, we at VNM Forged can tailor the billet adapters to accommodate your specific wheel and tire combination. Opting for these proper adapters will prevent many potential headaches down the road.
Standard Sizes
- Steel Adapters are only made at 1" thick - Billet Adapters range from 1.5" to as thick as 6".
Wheel Center Caps
Vnm Forged wheel center caps are available in three options: solid billet caps, floating billet caps, and a more economical ABS plastic option. The primary differences between the billet and plastic caps are significant. Billet caps are far more durable, can be custom engraved, and offer finishing options such as polishing and powder coating to perfectly match your wheels. In contrast, the plastic caps are less durable, with finishes limited to chrome and black, and generally do not last as long.

Billet Aluminum Solid Caps
Billet aluminum solid caps are an excellent enhancement for your new forged wheels. Unlike most caps made from ABS plastic, which typically feature a chrome or painted finish that may not perfectly match your wheels, these durable aluminum caps ensure a longer lifespan. Additionally, they offer the flexibility to engrave custom logos and to powder coat in any color of your choosing, allowing for a fully customized appearance that complements your wheels flawlessly.
Front Cap Size: 1.5" Tall
Rear Cap Size: 4" Tall
Billet Aluminum Floating Caps
Billet floating caps stand out from conventional wheel caps with their unique design that creates an illusion of floating. Even as the vehicle moves, the centerpiece—often adorned with a logo—remains stationary. Additionally, they offer the flexibility to engrave custom logos and to powder coat in any color, ensuring a perfect match and a customized look that enhances your vehicle's aesthetics.
Front Cap Size: 1.5" Tall
Rear Cap Size: 4" Tall
ABS Plastic Caps
Plastic caps typically come in black or chrome finishes and serve as a temporary solution. Although their finish may not endure long, they are an affordable alternative for completing a wheel setup, particularly if you are outfitting a work truck or have budget constraints. However, if you choose to upgrade in the future, our wheels are designed with pre-tapped holes to allow for easy installation of billet caps, providing a more durable and aesthetically pleasing option when you're ready to enhance your setup.
Floating Cap Options
Choose from a variety of finishes and add a personal touch with custom engraving.
Raw Machined
This top floater cap features a raw aluminum finish, crafted using lathe machining. It has no polish or powder coating. Custom engraving options are available.
Powder Coated / Milled
Our most popular finish is the powder-coated/milled style. First, we powder coat the top floater, followed by engraving. We then apply a clear coat to protect the finish. This method creates a contrast that, in our opinion, looks clean and modern.
Powder Coated 1 Color
This top floater finish is available in any solid color of your choice through powder coating. We start by machining the engraving, then powder coat the entire piece for a uniform, solid finish.
Powder Coated 2 Colors
The two-color powder coating option features one color on the face of the floater and a second color for the engraving. We achieve this by first powder coating the entire floater. Next, we machine the engraving and finally, we apply a second powder coat specifically to the engraved areas.
Polish / Powder Coated Engraving
This finish involves first machining the engraving. We then powder coat the engraved areas, and finally, we polish the face of the top floater. This process delivers a sleek, polished appearance with a contrasting powder-coated engraving.
Polished
This polish finish for the top floater includes both the entire surface and the engraving. The process starts with machining, followed by sending the piece to our polishing department for a comprehensive, glossy finish.
Our custom billet covers are available in three popular styles: spikes, top hat cylindrical, and crown. Crafted from 6061 T-6 billet aluminum bars, these covers are meticulously cut down, lathed, and milled in the sunny side of Lynwood, California—consistent with every product we offer. Our finishing options include raw machined, powder coated, and polished to meet diverse aesthetic preferences. We are committed to innovation, continually introducing new styles to the market. These covers are designed to thread onto 22x1.5 mm studs. Our adapters and wheels are engineered to work in combination, ensuring these lug nut caps function seamlessly.

F.A.Q.
Do you offer Super Singles For Dually Trucks?
Yes, we provide super single wheel setups for the front of dually trucks. This involves removing the factory dually adapters at the front, which typically exposes a smaller bolt pattern originally connected to the axle. We use this smaller bolt pattern to install the super single wheel.
To maintain the aesthetic consistency with the large 10-lug cap and billet lug nut covers used on the rear dually wheels, we can create a "ghost style" setup for the front super singles. This design allows us to overlay the massive 10-lug cap and billet lug nut covers onto your existing bolt pattern. Our super single wheels are available in sizes ranging from 20 inches to 30 inches.
While we also offer the option to convert the rear dually setup to a super single, it's important to note that this configuration is not recommended for heavy towing. Converting to a single rear wheel reduces the vehicle’s towing capacity and is best suited for light towing, show purposes, or off-road use only.
Can I use a 14.50 or wider tire on dually wheels?
We can create custom spacers tailored to your tire setup. Given the width of your tires, you might encounter rubbing issues with the inner wheel, leaf spring, inner fender, and between the tires. To adequately address this, we can design wide wheel adapters along with a spacer to place between the wheels. A 2-inch spacer typically suffices for most situations, but we can also provide up to 3.5 inches if needed. For anything thicker, you're in the right place—we can custom-make adapters in any size you require.
Please note that using an adapter between the wheels may affect the alignment of the wheel cutouts. However, we have effective solutions for any vehicle fitment challenges that may arise with our wheels.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Our expertise in dually wheels is unmatched in the industry.
Are dually wheels with wheel adapters considered safe?
Dually wheels with wheel adapters are indeed safe when properly manufactured and installed. We produce every adapter in-house, adhering to stringent quality control standards in both machining and materials. It’s important to note that not all adapters are created equal. Our adapters are precision-engineered with tight tolerances to ensure they meet exact specifications. We continuously innovate and improve our products, using 10.9 American grade steel for our studs and lug nuts for added reliability.
Our company's experience is exemplified by our shop truck, a 2022 Ford F-450 equipped with our 1.5-inch thick 6061 billet aluminum 10x225 to 10x285.75 wheel adapters on 30-inch dually wheels. This setup includes The Argo-designed 42x13.5x30 tires, which are 10-ply and suitable for occasional towing without any issues. The truck has successfully towed up to 32,000 lbs on a gooseneck tandem axle with a torque tube trailer, performing flawlessly. It regularly tows a 43-ft toy hauler with a GVWR of 22,000 lbs, maintaining high performance even at speeds exceeding 80 mph. Notably, the wheel and tire setup has not been balanced, yet it exhibits no vibrations on the highway. This rigorous testing assures that we don’t just design products; we trust and use them under real-world conditions.
What is the difference between dually wheels with adapters and direct bolt on?
For optimal performance with tires larger than 35 inches in height and wider than 13.5 inches, we recommend using dually wheels with adapters. Adapters not only resolve potential issues with tire rubbing but also enhance the aesthetic appeal with a robust 10-lug pattern. Our adapters are meticulously designed for safety; they are hub-centric to your truck and wheel-centric to your wheels, ensuring a perfect fit. Additionally, we use 22mm studs, which provide greater security and strength compared to the original 14mm studs on your truck.
Conversely, for tires smaller than 35 inches in height and narrower than 12.5 inches in width, direct bolt-on dually wheels are advisable. These wheels are designed to attach directly without the need for adapters, using specialized lug nuts for a secure fit. However, it's important to note that the outer second wheel might not sit directly on the hub, and the original studs may be too short. To address these concerns, we have developed a reliable solution that guarantees compatibility and performance with your truck, ensuring a superior and worry-free product.
What is the difference between forged wheels & other off the shelve / imported cast wheels?
American-made forged wheels and imported cast wheels are two distinct types of wheel designs, each with its own set of characteristics and advantages. Here are the key differences between the two:
1. Manufacturing Process: - American-Made Forged Wheels: Forged wheels are created by taking a single piece of high-quality aluminum alloy and subjecting it to extreme heat and pressure. This process compresses and shapes the metal into the desired wheel design. Forged wheels are typically made in the USA and are known for their strength and durability. - Imported Cast Wheels: Cast wheels are made by pouring molten metal (usually aluminum) into a mold, allowing it to cool and solidify. This casting process is often used in various countries and is generally less labor-intensive than forging.
2. Material Quality: - Forged Wheels: Forged wheels are known for their superior material quality and strength. The forging process aligns the grain structure of the metal, making it more durable and capable of withstanding harsh driving conditions, such as heavy loads or high-performance applications. - Cast Wheels: Cast wheels may not have the same level of material quality and strength as forged wheels. They are more susceptible to cracks, bending, and other forms of damage, especially in demanding driving situations.
3. Weight and Performance: - Forged Wheels: Forged wheels are generally lighter and stronger than cast wheels. Their reduced weight can improve a vehicle's handling and overall performance, as they decrease unsprung weight and rotational mass. - Cast Wheels: Cast wheels are typically heavier, which can have a negative impact on a vehicle's performance, especially in high-performance or racing applications.
4. Cost: - Forged Wheels: American-made forged wheels are often more expensive than imported cast wheels. The precision and strength offered by the forging process contribute to the higher cost. - Cast Wheels: Imported cast wheels are generally more budget-friendly. They are a cost-effective option for those looking to enhance the appearance of their vehicle without a significant performance advantage.
5. Aesthetic Options: - Both forged and cast wheels come in a variety of designs, finishes, and styles. The choice between the two may depend more on the specific aesthetic preferences of the vehicle owner.
In summary, the primary differences between American-made forged wheels and imported cast wheels are in the manufacturing process, material quality, weight, performance, cost, and durability. Forged wheels are known for their superior strength and performance but come at a higher cost, while cast wheels are more budget-friendly but may lack the same level of durability and performance advantages. The choice between the two depends on your specific needs and budget.
