Frequently Asked Questions
Aluminum vs. Steel Wheel Adapters
Aluminum resists corrosion better than steel and significantly reduces rotating weight. Compare:
-
Tensile Strength:
- Billet 6061 T-6 Aluminum: 45,000 PSI
- Steel: 53,700 PSI
- Thickness: Our aluminum adapters are twice as thick as steel for added strength.
-
Weight:
- 1.5" Aluminum Adapter: 25 lbs
- 1.5" Steel Adapter: 48 lbs
Why Choose 1.5" Thick Adapters?
1.5" is the most popular size. It allows clearance for up to 13.5" wide front tires and gives your truck an improved stance.
What’s the Maximum Towing Capacity?
These adapters are proven to tow up to 36,000 lbs, tested on a 2022 Ford F-550.
