Powder Coating

Every detail matters when it comes to enhancing the appearance and performance of your vehicle. Here is the behind the scenes of our powder coating process.

The Powder Coating Process:

  1. Preparation of the Surface: The first step in the powder coating process involves preparing the surface of the items to be coated. This typically involves cleaning the surface to remove any dirt, grease, or contaminants that could affect the adhesion of the powder coating.

  2. Application of the Powder: Once the surface is clean and dry, the powder coating material is applied to the items using a spray gun or electrostatic sprayer.

  3. Curing: Once the items are coated with the powder, it is transferred to a curing oven. The curing process involves heating the items to a specific temperature for a set amount of time. This causes the powder particles to melt and flow together, forming a continuous coating on the surface of the object.

  4. Cooling and Finishing: After the curing process is complete, the items are allowed to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, the powder coating forms a hard, durable finish that is resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading.

  5. Quality Control: Finally, the coated items go through quality control checks to ensure that the powder coating has been applied evenly and that the finish meets the desired specifications. Any defects or imperfections are addressed before the items are packaged and shipped to the customer.

Customization Options:
One of the most exciting aspects of powder coating is the virtually limitless customization options it offers. Whether you're looking to match your lug nuts or wheels to your vehicle's color scheme or make a bold statement with a unique finish, our powder coating process can bring your vision to life. From glossy metallics to matte textures, the possibilities are endless.

For custom powder colors: enter the color name in the notes area on your cart. There will be on option to "Add order note     +" or "Add notes   +" on the cart page before checkout. You can also contact us after your purchase to add the color. Most of our custom colors are from prismaticpowders.com.

Durability and Performance:
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, powder coating also offers exceptional durability and performance. The cured powder coating forms a resilient barrier that protects the lug nuts and wheels from corrosion, abrasion, and fading, ensuring that they retain their like-new appearance for years to come. Whether you're off-roading or cruising the streets, you can trust that your Venum Wheel lug nuts and wheels will perform as good as they look.

Environmental Responsibility:
Unlike traditional paint or plating processes, powder coating produces minimal waste and emissions, making it a more eco-friendly choice for automotive finishing.

Color Options and Fulfillment Time:

We buy our powders from a few vendors both locally and across the United States. We try to keep most of our popular colors in stock at all times. If you order lug nuts and the powder color is in stock, they will be powder coated within 2-3 business days and shipped using FedEx 2 Day shipping (within the USA). For our least popular powders and for custom powder colors, we need to order from the vendor before we can start working on your order. Most of our vendors are also on a made-to-order platform, so a color may take anywhere from 1 day to 1 week to ship to us. Some powder coating requires a chrome base, if this is the case we require at least 1 extra day to process because the chrome must completely set before we can powder coat the second color.

Our color chart is still in progress, we are trying to find the best way to present all of our color options on our website. Here is the link to our current page: powder colors.

Delays

We automate our system to create labels for all of our powder coated lug nut orders. So you may see a tracking number on your order but it may not ship out right away. Reasons for delays vary:

  • we might be out of a powder color,
  • our supplier might be out of stock on their powder color,
  • our supplier changed their production and the color they sent does not match the previous color,
  • shipments of powders from our supplier may be delayed,
  • the powder coated lug nuts/lug bolts were contaminated during the powder coating process and it created a different texture,
  • the powder is a new custom powder and we need to go through a trial and error to achieve the correct end result,
  • the powder coating process requires extra detail,
  • the ovens/tools/booths are not working and a limited number of orders can be powder coated in one day

We sincerely apologize for any delays. We will do everything we can to get your order shipped out to you as soon as possible, however some delays are beyond our control.
