In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of installing wheel adapters safely and efficiently, ensuring a seamless and secure fit for your new wheels.

Tools and Materials:

Before you dive into the installation process, gather the necessary tools and materials to ensure a smooth experience:

  1. Wheel adapters
  2. Lug nuts
  3. Torque wrench (we do not recommend using an impact gun)
  4. Jack and jack stands
  5. Lug wrench
  6. Socket set
  7. Thread locker
  8. Wheel cleaner and microfiber towels

Step-by-Step Installation:

Step 1: Prepare Your Vehicle:

  1. Park your vehicle on a flat, stable surface and engage the parking brake.
  2. Loosen the lug nuts on the existing wheels, but do not remove them completely.

Step 2: Lift the Vehicle:

  1. Safely lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands. Make sure to follow proper safety guidelines and find appropriate lifting points.

Step 3: Remove Wheels:

  1. Once the vehicle is securely lifted, remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.

Step 4: Clean and Inspect:

  1. Clean the hub surface thoroughly using a wheel cleaner and microfiber towels.
  2. Inspect both the hub and the wheel adapters for any damage or irregularities.

Step 5: Install Wheel Adapters:

  1. Place the wheel adapter onto the hub, aligning the bolt holes.
  2. Make sure the adapter sits flush against the hub.
  3. Hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the wheel adapter bolts.
  4. If the stud sticks out past the face of the adapters, cut the studs.
  5. Use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications in a crisscross pattern.

Step 6: Attach Wheels:

  1. Carefully slide the wheel onto the wheel adapter's studs.
  2. Hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the wheel adapter studs.
  3. Again, use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications in a crisscross pattern.

Step 7: Final Check and Test:

  1. Lower the vehicle carefully from the jack stands.
  2. Spin the wheel.
  3. Tighten the lug nuts once more in the same crisscross pattern after a short test drive (approximately 50 miles) to ensure they're properly seated.

Step 8: Apply Thread Locker (recommended):

  1. If desired, apply a thread locker to the wheel adapter bolts to prevent them from loosening over time. Follow the product instructions for proper application.

We recommend getting adapters professionally installed. Remember to prioritize safety, adhere to torque specifications, and consult your vehicle's manufacturer or give us a call if you have any doubts.
